Clematis Purpurea Plena Elegans – Late Summer Flowering Clematis

This is an amazing Clematis variety with masses of sumptuous, double, reddish-purple flowers from mid-summer to late autumn. Easy to grow and vigorous, Purpurea plena Elegans is a late flowering clematis that makes an excellent partner for climbing through a climbing rose, shrub or tree in full sun or partial shade. An old variety introduced in the 16th century, yet one of the very best, and seldom seen. Does best in fertile, moist and well-drained soil, in a sunny or part sunny position. Supplied in approx. 2-3 litre containers.
